A Memory.

He talks. She listens.
It was a memory.
He jokes. She laughs.
It was a memory.
He is always beside her. She is beside him.
It was a memory.
He looks at her. She looks at him.
It was a memory.
He cheers her up. She acknowledges.
It was a memory.
He compliments her. She is flattered.
It was a memory.
He takes a picture of her. She smiles.
It was a memory.
He teases her. She hates it.
It was a memory.
He fixes her hair. She likes it.
It was a memory.
He sings to her. She admires it.
It was a memory.
He holds her hand and she holds his.
It was a memory.
He hugs and comforts her. ‘Cause she cried that day.
It was a memory.

THEY were just a memory.
Because ONCE they were real.

‘Liam was a possibility. Owen was just a memory.’
